Get in touch with your slimy side and make your very own ceramic toad in this half-day workshop.

In this session, you will:

• Learn about toad physiology
• Handbuild your toad from scratch
• Watch demos of methods for shaping eyes, legs and toes
• Try different ways of creating texture using found objects
• Learn about clays, sculpture methods and the firing process

Choose from terracotta, crank or white clay depending on where you would like your toad to live. Your toad can be fired for indoor or outdoor display.

Leave your toad to dry and be fired, then collect it in 2 weeks. Or come back for a glazing workshop to add your choice of shine and colour.

You will need:

• Apron
• Some reference photos of toads you like, printed out
• Found items that could create toady textures

Clay, boards and sculpting tools are provided.
